Aldi is to open a further 100 UK stores over the next two years

Aldi says it will be investing £1.3bn by 2023 to grow its UK store chain. Currently operating from just over 920 locations, the retailer is seeking freehold town-centre or edge-of-centre sites suitable for development of stores up to 20,000 sq. ft. It will also invest in additional distribution centre facilities.

Richard Thornton, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “We’re continuing to gain even more customers – with over 60 per cent of UK households shopping with Aldi in the last year. “Our focus is on expanding our store estate, making sure Aldi is accessible to as many of these new shoppers across the country as possible.”
