Aldi has chosen to partner with Deliveroo in a trial which will enable customers to select from around 150 products to create grocery orders for home delivery. Orders will be picked in-store by Aldi staff for same-day delivery by Deliveroo, often within around an hour. It starts the trial from a Nottingham store, then extending to seven other locations across the East Midlands by June. If successful the service could be rolled out to the rest of its 875 UK stores.
“This is a new and exciting venture for us and we will be constantly reviewing how we can best serve our customers and continue to provide them with the high quality products they are used to in store,” said Giles Hurley, CEO, Aldi UK.
