Alpkit raises £2.2m investment

Alpkit, a specialist multichannel outdoor clothing and equipment retailer has raised £2.25m from over 2700 investors via Crowdcube. The business says it will use the investment to grow its UK and international web sales, add two stores per year as well as launch a European hub.

Alpkit raised £1.5m in 2020 which it deployed to open five stores and grow its revenues to £14m.

CEO David Hanney said: “We’ve been completely overwhelmed by the support from our customers. This is an exciting time for us, and as well as the financial backing, we appreciate the breadth and depth of expertise that comes with our new shareholders as we go into our next phase of growth.”
