Amazon has launched a card reader and mobile app to enable even the smallest of businesses to accept card payments. Priced at US $10, Amazon will charge US $1.75 per cent commission on payments it processes, rather than the usual $2.75 charged by competitors. There is no word yet as to when “Local Register” will be launched in other countries but it is bound to create a lot of interest.
