Amazon as entered agreement to acquire Indian online payments business Emvantage. This will provide the global online giant with a payment gateway, pre-paid card offering as well as mobile payment facilities. The Emvantage team will join Amazon’s payments team to further develop secure payment systems in the fast growing Indian market once the deal is finalised later this year. Amazon has long set its sights on the Indian market where it has been building a strong customer base.
