Amazon is undertaking a review at its headquarters in Seattle with a view to eradicating several hundred jobs in its marketplace, food delivery and retail trading units – but this in no way points to a downturn, more to a change in focus. It has plans to invest more heavily in talent to develop its cloud computing and voice controlled services. Affected staff are being encouraged to apply for new roles with the online giant which currently has nearly 4000 vacancies in the USA.
