KPMG has been appointed by American Apparel to close down its UK operations after the Christmas trading period. The US operations of American Apparel are about to be sold and it is understood that the buyer has no interest in the brand continuing to trade in UK. The chain of 13 stores, 8 of which are in London, employ 183 staff.
