Andrex maker ‘prepared’ for second lockdown

The manufacturer of Andrex toilet roll has reassured customers concerned about shortages during England’s second coronavirus lockdown.

Kimberly-Clark said it was fully prepped for potential stockpiling, with 100 million toilets rolls in UK warehouses.

The announcement comes following reports of panic-buying during the first pandemic in March, with shoppers having difficulty finding toilet paper.

The company said: “Even back in March, when supermarket orders more than doubled overnight (from 60 to 132 orders per day), supplies of Andrex never ran out.”

A second four-week lockdown was announced by the government on Saturday. From Thursday, tighter restrictions will be in place across the UK, with essential shops, such as supermarkets remaining open.
