Ann Summers grows sales

In its results for the year to June 24th, 2017, Ann Summers posted a sales increase of 7.4 per cent to £109 million with gross profits up by 3.4 per cent to £69.8 million. Sales had received a boost during the year as a result of growth in the retailer’s party plan division driven by an ITV documentary called Brief Encounters which focused on the activities of its self employed sales agents.

“With consumers facing the reality of having less money in their pockets it is more important than ever we are focused on our customers,” commented CEO Jacqueline Gold, adding “At Ann Summers we put the customer at the heart of our decision making and, as a result, we continue to buck the retail trend with all our channels delivering growth.”
