AO World is expecting that its half-year revenues to September 30th will come in at £715 million, up by 57 per cent on the results achieved for the same period last year. UK revenues are up by approximately 54 per cent, with German sales up by 83 per cent on a constant currency basis.
Group CEO John Roberts said: “The last six months of trading have been like no other during my two decades in the business. AO was in good shape coming into this financial year and the global, structural shift in customer behaviour to online, accelerated by COVID, emphasised our strengths.”
Meanwhile, AO will open its first ever concession within Tesco Extra in Middleton on October 22nd as part of a trial which will involve a total of five ‘stores within a store’. It will take 2088 sq.ft. in Middleton staffed by AO personnel.
The group will formally announce its interim results on Tuesday, November 24th.
