Wickes names Marketing Director assignments DIY and building
trades supplier Wickes has appointed former Tesco.com marketing director Ian
Crook as its marketing director. Altogether Crook spent close to 18 years in
senior marketing roles at Tesco where he established himself as a leader in
building customer loyalty and leveraging customer insight. Prior to his tenure
at Tesco, Crook worked in marketing roles with Early Learning Centre and The
Retail Group.
Maplin appoints eCommerce Director Former Marks and Spencer
head of international multichannel trading Michel Koch has joined Maplin
Electronics as its eCommerce Director for the UK and International. Koch has
held senior roles with Berteslmann Book Club, Quelle, Manutan and Conrad,
amongst others.
Hitchcock moves to Omnico Darren Hitchcock has been named UK
country manager by Omnico. He joins from Rich Relevance and had previously held
roles with Omniture and Bottom-line Technologies.
Julie Badham has joined Hackett as eCommerce Merchandising
Manager from Crew Clothing. She has previously worked with Lipsy London and
Jaeger.
Karen Millen names
new commercial director Nicola Carr Matthews has joined fashion retailer Karen
Millen as commercial director, replacing Steve Price who left the business at
the end of December 2013. Nicola began her career with Merrill Lynch and as a
financial analyst before training in buying and merchandising which saw her
join Gap in merchandise planning. Roles with Gap Europe, LK Bennett, Hobbs,
Jacques Vert and ilovegorgeous.com followed.
The former marketing and ecommerce director for Long Tall
Sally, Gerald Dawson has been recruited as Finance and Operations Dierctor by
casual wear brand Weird Fish. Dawson has extensive ecommerce experience having
also spent 5 years with Amazon and will be tasked to drive the Weird Fish
multi-channel business. Founded in 1993and backed by Piper Weird Fish operates
11 standalone stores and has 450 wholesale accounts in the UK, Ireland, France,
Germany, Czech republic, Holland and Russia.
The RFL appoints Marketing Director Mark Foster has been
named Marketing Director of the RFL, having spent the last 18 months working as
Marketing Manager of Rugby League World Cup 2013. He has previously worked as Marketing
Director at Durham County Cricket and at Newcastle Falcons rugby union club. He
takes control of the RFL’s Marketing, Communications, Digital Media and Box
Office departments from March.
Worldpay appoints marketing chief Global payments provider Worldpay
has announced the appointment of James Frost as Chief Marketing Officer of its
UK division. James will have responsibility for the development and management
of all marketing across the UK and Ireland, from sole traders to the largest
corporations. He joins from Nectar.
