Angela Ahrends made an honorary dame Burberry CEO Angela
Ahrends who leaves the fashion business in the summer to take up the role of
head of retail at Apple has been presented with an honorary DBE by Vince Cable
. The ceremony took place at the Department for Business, Innovation &
Skills on April 7th. During Ahrends tenure at Burberry revenues have soared to
over US $3 billion and she has also served as a member of David Cameron’s
Business Advisory Group.

Steve Carson has promoted by Home Retail Group to the new
position of Retail & Customer Operations Director. In addition to retaining
responsibility for retail operations he will now also be responsible for Home
Retail Group customer services and property services functions.

Online retail business Freddie & George has recruited
Jonathan Cliffe as its head of ecommerce as it targets growth. The Stoke on
Trent business which has traded primarily via Amazon and eBay and four retail
outlets to date is set to launch a new website and grow its sales to £40
million. Cliffe has previously held eCommerce and online marketing roles with
Beaconsfield Footwear, The Webb Group, and Phones4U.

Powa Technologies, headed by Dan Wagner, has named George
Thaw as Channel CEO and Group COO and Chris Taplin as its new SVP & Global
Head of Solution Engineering. Both have joined from SAP.

BlackCircles.com has appointed former Tesco CEO Sir Terry
Leahy to its board in the run up to the business’ flotation. Sir Terry is a 25
per cent shareholder in the business which is the UK’s largest online tyre
retailer with sales of £27.8 million.

Former N Brown Group CEO Alan White has been appointed as
chairman by Hotter, the British footwear business which received investment
from Electra at the start of the year. Hotter employs over 1000 people and has
one million customers in the UK and overseas. It is the UK’s largest shoe
manufacturer. Alan is currently also a non-executive director at both Direct
Wines and Topps Tiles.

Gracia Amico has been appointed to the role of chief executive
with JustAddRed group’s online pet supplies brand PetsPyjamas. Amico was
previously with Hobbs.

Arrow XL has appointed Shaun Devey as IT & Business
Change Director. He will report direct to CEO Ian Howell at the growing two-man
delivery business.

Haatch, recently formed by Kiddicare founders Scott and
Elaine Weaver-Wright as an incubator for technology start-ups, has recruited
Simon Harrow to its team. Harrow had stayed with Kiddicare when it was acquired
by Morrisons.

InPost has recruited Andy Taylor to the role of UK managing director
and Michelle de Pasquale has joined the unattended locker delivery business as
its commercial director.
