Argos to trim back standalone store count

Argos, which is planning to open further ‘concessions’ within Sainsbury’s supermarket branches, is leveraging the opportunity to reduce its standalone store numbers.  The business says that it is working to make shopping more convenient for its customers and offering Sainsbury’s shoppers a much more rounded offering.

The plan is to close around 100 Argos branches over the next 12 months to bring its standalone chain down to around 180 locations.
