Sales at ASOS for the year ended 31 August reached £1.15 billion, an increase of 18 per cent of the previous year. UK sales had climbed by 27 per cent with international sales growing by 11 per cent in a year which saw the business leverage its investments in customer proposition, warehousing and human resources. ASOS had also received an insurance payout of £6.3 million in respect of the fire at its Barnsley, S Yorks warehouse in 2014.
ASOS counted 9.9 million active customers, up by 13 per cent with a 9 per cent increase in its average order value during the year. Pre-tax profit came in at £47.5 million. The business says that its planning for the imminent peak season is well advanced and that ASOS remains on track to its longer term goal of achieving £2.5 billion sales.
