Maersk has confirmed a new multi-year partnership with ASOS which will see it build on the relationship initially fostered during the pandemic. Under the agreement, Maersk and ASOS will work together on supply chain management combined with ocean and air services delivering into all of ASOS’ fulfilment centres – two in the UK, one in Germany and one in the USA. Together these fulfilment centres handled close to 100 million orders in the online retailer’s latest financial year.
ASOS has over 26 million active customers in 200 countries who are able to choose from around 70,000 products which are sourced from some 900 local and global brands, as well as its own label products which are manufactured by a range of suppliers.
Gary Jeffreys, managing director UK & Ireland, Maersk commented: “We are very proud to support ASOS’ global operations and growth ambitions. We first started working with ASOS during the pandemic, when we were able to support the business in a challenging market. This new strategic partnership is a testament to the strength of the relationship we built during that period.
“We can provide a global eCommerce fashion retailer like ASOS with the needed agility, speed and resilience in its supply chain because we are owning and controlling the assets along the transport chain from factory to fulfilment centres.”
