ASOS German DC hit by fire

A severe fire has impacted ASOS at its Eurohub 2 distribution centre near Berlin. Early reports are that the fire has caused £6.3 million in loss and damage to stock held at the facility. Fulfilment for orders that would have been fulfilled from the DC has transferred to the ASOS facility in Barnsley whilst a clean up is underway. The fire had apparently been contained to a single section of the German facility and ASOS said that it hoped to have the unaffected sections operational within a day or two and that it is fully insured for loss of stock and business interruption.

This is the third fire to hit ASOS, the most recent being in 2014 at its Barnsley warehouse.
