ASOS narrows losses as sales fall

ASOS has posted sales of £2.5bn for the year to 31st August, ’25, which is 15 per cent lower than for the prior year. It achieved a narrowing of losses, which dropped to £282m from £379m the previous year. Still, the business warned that there was uncertainty going forward due to the imminent budget and its impact on consumer sentiment.

The business has been engaged in a turnaround involving the clearance of excess stock, as well as sidelining customers with excessive return history. It has also developed additional partnerships with popular brands, including Charlotte Tilbury, Mango and Nike, and is also testing an AI solution which recommends product pairings based upon customers’ previous search and purchasing history.
