ASOS has called a number of its customer care staff into consultation over proposed redundancies as it seeks to outsource night shift working to a third party facility and restrict its hours of operation to 7 am-7 pm. All affected are staff work out of its Leavesden, Herts location. This forms part of a company-wide rationalisation to introduce more cost-effective and efficient operations. ASOS also spelled out that the different time zones supported by its customer care team also required fluency in multiple languages to ensure the best service and that this could be better provided for via a third party facility. It is not known which supplier ASOS is planning to migrate its overnight requirement to.
