B&Q to reduce selling space


Imminent rises in business rates had led to B&Q confirming that it will reduce its selling space by 15 per cent in the UK by downsizing some of its stores and potentially closing others. Other retail chains are also understood to be considering their options as the business rates levied are becoming harder for multi-site retailers to afford, even with the slowly improving economy leading to a slight increase in sales.
