Ban on knife deliveries to homes

The Government is introducing stricter controls over deliveries of knives in a bid to reduce instances of knife crime.  Rather than deliver direct to home addresses, retailers will now be required to divert deliveries to either their own, or a third party’s, click and collect address where customers can be age-verified via proof of identification, prior to handing over ordered goods.  This will, according to the Home Office, reduce the risk of knives being purchased online for criminal activity as it will both prevent under-age people from collecting knives and will deter criminals from trying to covertly obtain knives.
