Barbour achieves strong revenue growth

Barbour has posted revenues of £343.1m for the year to 30 April 2023, up from the £285.5m it generated for the prior year. However, pre-tax profits were down to £36.3m from £40.5m as gross profit also fell from 45 per cent to 43.6 per cent.

Steve Buck, group managing director, said that the business was continuing to recover robustly from the impact of Covid-19 but countered this by adding that the cost of living crisis, Ukraine war, uncertainty in global markets and intense cost pressures all presented numerous challenges to margins across all channels and markets,

“Despite the current global challenges, we remain confident in our long-term growth strategy and will continue to invest in our people, systems and our service,” he said.
