Basler UK enters administration

Somewhat inevitably Basler UK has entered administration. This follows problems at its German parent company Basler Fashion Group which had entered a formal restructuring process but had failed to find a buyer. As a whole Basler, which was founded in 1936,  had employed more than 1100 staff, 98 of which were UK based. A German equivalent of Jaeger in terms of its price point and heritage, Basler is yet another mid-market brand which has struggled to retain its customers. Joint administrators for the UK subsidiary, Arron Kendall and Simon Thomas, partners at Moorfield Advisory have stated that they will continue to trade  as normal to fulfil wholesale orders whilst also selling off all remaining stock via Basler’s  3 standalone stores, 17 concesssions,  and its single outlet store.
