capabilities should land you a dream job, your smudged mascara or
bright red lipstick could be tripping you up at the final
hurdle.

up about a candidate, but it could be down to a set of beauty
blunders many people aren’t even aware of, that makes or breaks
an interview, according to new research by Debenhams.
Chipped nails, split ends and smudged mascara top the list of
cosmetic catastrophes that put interviewers off a candidate.
Untidy chipped nail polish is a complete no-no, with interviewers
rating it their worst beauty blunder, and the first thing they
notice as they shake hands upon arrival.
On the other hand, if you pardon the pun, an immaculately made-up
face tells the interviewer to watch out for his job, as this
candidate means business.

want to dress to impress at the office, the secret is not to try
too hard. Instead of expensive designer wear, heels and lots of
makeup, the looks likely to earn respect and admiring glances a
more toned down approach to glamour, made famous by celebrities
like Holly Willoughby and business personality Karren
Brady.
A poll of 1,000 female office workers aged 18 to 40 carried out
by Onepoll for fashion website Very.co.uk found that
“having too much on display” was the biggest howler.
The most unacceptable looks were displaying cleavage, cited by 61
percent, wearing mini-skirts (54 percent) or too much makeup (51
percent).
