The UK version of the Bits and Pieces catalogue and website has
relaunched just in time for Christmas. The puzzles and gifts
merchant had stopped doing business earlier this year, when its
Westerly, RI-based parent company, BlueSky Brands, went out of
business. In addition to the US and UK Bits and Pieces
businesses, BlueSky Brands had owned US gifts cataloguer The
Paragon. Multi title gardening mailer Gardens Alive, based in
Lawrenceburg, IN, acquired the two brands in May and recently
relaunched their US websites.
Bits and Pieces (UK) is run by the newly formed company Kafka UK
Direct. Although it is headquartered in Bradford, West Yorkshire,
Kafka’s director, Kim Kinerk, lives in Garden Alive’s home state
of Indiana, according to British newspaper the Daily
Mirror. The British newspaper had earlier in the year
reported that a number of UK customers had never received their
Christmas orders, nor had they been given refunds.
