Aurelius is being touted as having shown interest in taking the Body Shop business from Natura. Other private equity firms are also suggested to be looking at the opportunity. Natura acquired Body Shop in 2017 from L’Oreal for £880m, but the business has lost its original USP of late with far greater competition from other brands moving into the ethical product arena.
Body Shop has not started its current financial year well having posted falling revenues for two consecutive quarters.
