Online growth has contributed to a successful half year for Bonmarche in what the business has termed a difficult trading environment. Total revenue for the six months to 30 September came in at £97.8 million, up by 5 per cent over last year with online sales up by 38.6 per cent. The business had worked to deliver a better customer experience offering online ordering in-store and had also developed new product ranges which proved popular.
CEO Helen Connolly said “I am satisfied with the progress made during the first half of the financial year. Adding “I do not expect the clothing market to become any less challenging in the near future, and, therefore remain focused on continuing to grow by profitably gaining market share.”
