Boohoo appoints auditor PKF to replace PwC

Boohoo appoints auditor PKF to replace PwC

Online fashion retailer Boohoo has appointed PKF Littlejohn LLP as the group’s auditor with immediate effect.

The news comes after PwC resigned from the role in October. PwC had been auditor for Boohoo since 2014.

According to the Financial Times, its sources cited risks about continuing to work with the Manchester-based retailer.

Boohoo has been involved in a modern slavery scandal over working conditions in its British factory. Last month, the retailer appointed former court judge, Sir Brian Leveson PC, to provide an interdependent oversight of the group’s supply chain.

On Monday, the group said the appointment followed a “competitive tender process” led by its audit committee.

Boohoo said: “The board would like to thank PwC for its services and support provided to the Group over the past seven years.”
