Boohoo has named Primark’s chief operating officer John Lyttle has its new CEO. Lyttle will join the business in March 2019. Lyttle saw revenues grow to over £7 billion during his tenure at Primark and had previously held senior positions with Matalan and Arcadia Group. Current joint chief executive Mahmud Kamani will become group executive chairman with fellow joint chief executive Carol Kane becoming an executive director of the business.
Kamani and Kane said in a statement “We are thrilled to have secured a candidate of John’s calibre as our CEO. We have got to know John over a number of years and are convinced he has the necessary skills to complement what we already have and take the Group on to its next stage of growth. Both us of remain totally committed to the business and will ensure a measured and careful handover.”
