Wesfarmers, the Australian headquartered parent of Bunnings has announced that its first Bunnings Warehouse store will open in St Albans in February 2017. This will be the first store conversion from the Homebase chain it acquired and occupies 70,000 sq.ft.. The retailer has also confirmed that it will have at least another three re-branded UK stores operational by midsummer. The new format stores will stock an increased range as well as offer cafe, children’s play and a training area. In its native Australia Bunnings delivers DIY classes and workshops for its customers and is widely regarded as being the front runner for well priced home improvement products.
Homebase price-led catalogues and advertisements have already begun to take on the no-nonsense style of Bunnings.
