Card Factory reports strong half

Card Factory has reported sales of £220.8m for the six months ended 31st July ’23 which is up 11.5 per cent over the same half in 2022. Pre-tax profit also rose to £24.7m from £14.3m and EBITDA was up to £51.1m as against the £43.8m achieved for the same period in 2022.

The retailer had opened 11 new stores in the UK and Ireland and had additionally entered into a long-term master franchise agreement with Liwa for the Middle East market. The first four stores opened later in the year. The group also completed its acquisition of SA Greetings in South Africa.

In a statement, the business said: “We are delighted to announce a strong performance in the first six months of this year.

“We continue to build the key foundations for growth through the delivery of our ‘Opening Our New Future’ strategy. Our value and quality proposition and the strength of our store estate resonates with customers and positions us well to navigate the challenging economic backdrop in the run-up to the Christmas trading season.”
