Word is that Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) has decided to sell on the Cath Kidston business. The sale process is being managed by PwC which is seeking a buyer for what has become a predominantly wholesale business. BPEA has owned the business since 2016. Cath Kidston fell into administration in 2020 enabling BPEA to shed virtually all of its stores and most of its employees via a pre-pack deal orchestrated by Alvarez & Marsal.
Currently with a few stores in the Middle East, global wholesale activity, and online sales, the brand still has appeal and will hopefully land with a party which can breathe new life into it.
