Peter presenter Peter Duncan have given Manchester-based outdoor
clothing company Regatta a lift. The company has credited the
recent promotional campaign featuring these celebrities with
contributing to a year-on-year sales rise of 32 percent. The
family-owned business, which operates four brands including
Craghoppers, Dare2B and Hawkshead, is also optimistic regarding
the remainder of the fiscal year.
Sales at Craghoppers (including the mail order division) were up
30 percent on last year, and the company was “extremely
pleased” with how the new Hawkshead ranges are being
received. Regatta acquired Hawkshead from the administrators this
past August. Hawkshead had suffered from insufficient financing
and severe “technical difficulties” with its mail
order database. Regatta said it plans to release more financial
information about Hawkshead’s performance later in the year.
