Celesio acquires Sainsbury’s pharmacy business


Sainsbury’s has agreed to sell its 281 pharmacies – 277 of which are in sited in its stores and 4 in hospitals – to Celesio’s LloydsPharmacy for a consideration of £125 million.  As part of the deal,  which is expected to complete early in 2016, Sainsbury’s will charge a commercial rent  for each location and staff will transfer with the business.
