The Telegraph reveals that the chief executive of US book
retailer Barnes & Noble, William Lynch, has stepped down after the retailer
admitted defeat in its tablet battle with rivals Amazon and Apple. Chief
financial officer Michael Huseby has been promoted to chief executive of the
group’s Nook e-reader business, with Mitchell Lipper continuing to lead the
retail arm. Barnes & Noble will continue to build its own black and white
Nook e-readers.
