Clarks calls in advisors

With sales falling by 6 per cent last year to £1.5 billion, resulting in a post-tax loss of £82.9 million, and a general slowing of footfall continuing to affect trading in most of its stores, Clarks has called in McKinsey to support its transformation.

Clarks operates 553 shops in the UK & Ireland and has a headcount of around 12000 and it has warned that it cannot rule out store closures as it strives to return to profit
