Clarks makes 160 redundancies in reboot strategy

Clarks has revealed that it has had to make 160 staff redundant with immediate effect. 108 of those impacted are located at its Street, Somerset headquarters. This forms part of an overall turnaround strategy, Made to Last, which aims to reboot the business and will see around 200 new roles created as a further 700 are to go.

“There are exciting opportunities ahead for our business, and we are having to make some difficult decisions to get there, said CEO Giorgio Presca. “We thank all affected staff for their contribution to our business and they leave their roles with our heartfelt respect and support.”
