Clarks has confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Ram as its chief executive.

Ram was most recently with Hanesbrands and had previously headed New Balance business operations in Latin America, EMEA and the USA. He will join the LionRock Capital business in April.
As widely reported, Clarks has had a difficult few years resulting in a CVA at the end of 2020 as it sought to slash its retail operating costs. For the year to 30 January 2021, it posted group sales of £775m with losses of £181.8m.
