Gordon Ramsay has run into opposition from a number of established Rock residents over his planning application to demolish the characterful Edwardian five bedroom house he bought in the upmarket enclave for £4.4 million last year. One of the opponents to Ramsay’s plans to build a much larger modern house with two kitchens, swimming pool and guest annexe, just happens to be ECMOD Direct Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award winner Andrew Nisbet. As Ramsay’s next door neighbour he is not at all happy that the garden of his retreat will be overlooked and have its privacy destroyed by Ramsay’s new build, if it is allowed to go ahead. Ironically there is a glowing reference for the professional kitchen supplies provided by Andrew Nisbet’s company to Ramsay’s restaurants on the Nisbets website, penned by Gordon Ramsay himself.
