Compton & Woodhouse and New Heights under new ownership

Collectibles marketer Compton & Woodhouse has been relaunched
under new ownership following its collapse into administration in
November. The company is now a trading name of Owen & Williamson
Ltd, a company incorporated on 27th October.

Its previous owner, Haroldrex Ventures, appointed Zolfo Cooper as
administrator on 1st November. Haroldrex Ventures, which operated
Compton & Woodhouse, Brooks & Bentley and Diamond Discount
Centre, acquired the brands in 2009 from administrators BDO Stoy
Hayward. During the process, 30 employees were made
redundant.

Another name resurrected in late 2010 was furniture brand New
Heights. Its brand, database and exclusive supply rights of New
Heights furniture were acquired by The Cotswold Company.
New Heights had originally entered administration in 2008; its
assets were subsequently acquired by one of its creditors, who
sold them on to The Cotswold Company in late summer 2010.
