Home goods cataloguer/retailer Coopers of Stortford has acquired
local retailer Margaret Kay Flowers and Wine. Margaret Kay will
relocate its store to within Coopers’ premises in Bishop’s
Stortford. Jane Anderson, daughter of Margaret Kay’s founders,
will continue to run the business and has joined Coopers in a
senior management role. “I have always wanted to expand the
business,” she said in a statement, adding that she has her
sights set on reaching consumers nationwide via catalogues and
online shopping.
“Margaret Kay is a successful business that is attractive
to Coopers of Stortford, as it offers a range of products that
complements our own very well,” said Coopers managing
director Andy McDermott, though he remained tight-lipped about
plans for the acquired business. The acquisition will be
completed on 9th March.
