Corporate Express sells printing subsidiary to focus on office supplies

Office supplies merchant Corporate Express is selling its Veenman
printing subsidiary to Xerox for approximately £33.9 million
(€43 million). The Netherlands-based Veenman, which sells
office printers and copiers to small and midsize firms, recently
expanded to provide document management software and consulting
support. Once the transaction is complete, Veenman will operate
as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xerox and will continue to be led
by managing director Eric Annema. Corporate Express CEO Peter
Ventress said in a statement that this divestment
“represents a further step in our drive to become a more
focused global office supplies company”.
