Australian headquartered Cotton On Group, which is opening its first UK store for its Typo stationery fascia this year, has announced an AUD40 million investment into the construction of a new distribution centre at Avalon Airport, Geelong, in Victoria. The deal will see Cotton On become the anchor tenant in the new 40 hectare industrial precinct and will serve as a hub for stock distribution to its network of over 778 stores within Australia as well as support its growing eCommerce operations. The company’s existing distribution centre at Lara processes 130,000 products a day while the new facility will have capacity to handle nearly three times as much.
Cotton On Group is among a number of Australian speciality retail groups testing UK and European markets.
