The parent company of Bed Kingdom, Flair Furniture, has acquired the stock and IP of Cuckooland from administrators.
Cuckooland, which had doubled its sales during the Covid pandemic lockdowns, had hit a series of problems which saw it file for administration earlier this year, appointing Resolve Advisory to handle the process. Cuckooland, which specialised in children’s bedroom furniture as well as outdoor seating, had filed a loss of over £690k for FY 2022/3.
Ashley Hainsworth, the founder and director of Flair Furniture, said: “We’ve had a promising few years in terms of business growth, and this asset acquisition paves the way for us to expand laterally.
“We already have a strong digital presence for children’s beds through one of our biggest brands, Bed Kingdom, so acquiring Cuckooland’s website and assets made sense. We’re pleased to be in a position to nurture and expand this exceptional brand.”
