Debenhams has a new store in St Collins Lane. Melbourne. It is being operated by franchise partner Pepkor which is owned by Steinhoff Group. At 3600 sq.m. across two floors the focus is on fashion including lines from its collaborations with Julien Macdonald, Preen, Jasper Conran and Matthew Williamson, plus beauty rooms and a coffee shop.
“International expansion in key markets is a strategic priority for our business. More than 20 million shoppers visit our 175 UK and ROI stores each year and this includes a huge number of Australian customers,” sad Debenhams managing director of international David Smith “Shoppers in Australia spend more than $5.1 billion on fashion and $8 billion on beauty products a year. Add that to the fact that we know our offering resonates and the next logical step was to open a store in Australia.”
