Deliveroo has ceased operations in Germany effective mid-August following poor demand. Amazon backed Deliveroo had contracted with around 1100 couriers in five of Germany’s cities and had around 100 direct employees in the country. The move provides Dutch competitor Takeaway.com which recently merged with Just Eat with an opportunity to step into the breach.
