DFS names new CEO


With Ian Filby having announced his decision to step down from the DFS board and the CEO role on 31st October, the furniture retailing group has confirmed his replacement. Tim Stacey will take up the position of CEO from 1st November after a six month handover process. Filby will remain with the business on a part time basis until October 2019 to effect this, whilst also assuming the role of chairman of Sofology.

Stacey joined DFS in 2011 and, as chief operating officer, has been deeply involved in the transformation of the business and led the acquisitions of Dwell and Sofa Workshop. prior to that he was multichannel director at Alliance Boots.

Ian Durant, chairman for DFS commented: “Ian has done a superb job over his eight years leading the business, both as private and public company.”
