DFS is in dispute with Sofaworks which traded as CSL prior to re-branding in December 2013. CSL had acquired the Sofaworks name in 1996 but did not immediately register it. When it tried to register the name as a trademark in September 2013, it was blocked because DFS had, by then, acquired the Sofa Workshop brand. The dispute is in the hands of the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court which, following a two day hearing last week, will make a judgement on June 29th unless the matter is settled out of court before then.
