Sales at Dixons’ businesses across the UK and Ireland,
northern and southern Europe rose 7 percent on a like-for-like basis in the
full year to 30th April. The company, which operates Currys and PC World, says
it’s in the “best position it has been in for many years” and attributed some
of its strong performance in the UK to the “demise of competitors”. Full-year
group underlying pretax profit is expected to come in at the top end of
expectations-around £75 million to £85 million, though trading at Pixmania
remains “challenging”.
