Like for like sales were up by 5 per cent to £166 million at Dobbies Garden Centre Group for the year for 24 February 2019, with overall sales increasing by 12 per cent. During the year Dobbies had acquired six new garden centres and disposed of two other sites.
As previously reported Dobbies has acquired a number of garden centres from Wyevale during the current year bringing its total to 69 sites. This will be reflected by increased sales for the 2019/2020 fiscal year.
“We are delighted with the continued strong performance with overall sales up 12 per cent and like-for-like sales up 5 per cent,” commented Andrew Bracey, chairman Dobbies, adding: “We are also very encouraged by the progress made in our newly acquired garden centres. The integration of the new centres is moving at pace and we look forward to providing market leading garden centres for our customers across the length and breadth of the country.”
