Donald Russell acquires Farmison IP & contracts

Donald Russell has swooped to acquire the intellectual property, website and contracts of Farmison, which will see Farmison’s craft butchery and DTC operations move to Inverurie.

The financial terms of the sale have not been disclosed, but the bringing together of Farmison and Donald Russell creates one of the largest DTC businesses in the premium meat sector. The Farmison name will continue to be used as will the trading relationships with suppliers. No jobs have been lost as a result of the transaction.

Farmison was acquired out of administration by a consortium led by former Asda CEO Andy Clarke. Its meat processing site and shop will now operate as Ripon Foods having been sold to GPS Food Group subsidiary Febripa Holdings. Clarke along with (former) Farmison CEO Andy Adcock, and finance director Alan Pater, will remain with Ripon Foods.
